It has been one year since Las Vegas Black Image Magazine was introduced in January 2009.
When the Las Vegas Review-Journal announced its partnership with Black Image creators and co-publishers Charles Tureaud and Kimberly Bailey-Tureaud, the team launched Nevada’s largest distributed publication targeting African-Americans.
“It was a great moment to publish our first issue of Las Vegas Black Image Magazine,” said Kimberly Bailey-Tureaud. “There was a tremendous editorial void in Las Vegas before we published Black Image, and we want to celebrate positive stories about African-Americans in Nevada. All over the valley, there are successful African-Americans in community service, business, entertainment and culture who contribute to our great lifestyle. We want to showcase that.”
African-Americans have tremendous spending power, and Black Image is dedicated to honoring that power and highlighting its benefits to the community. Said Charles Tureaud: “We want to thank all of our advertisers who have advertised in our publication, and who are reaching the broadest segment of African-Americans in Nevada.”
Among the talented team of people behind Black Image: editor André Herndon, designer Lee Strawther-Brown and a host of photographers who provide wonderful images that readers can treasure for a lifetime.
“The subscribers and readers of Las Vegas Black Image Magazine are the people we love and hopeto keep positively representing for a lifetime,” said Kimberly Bailey- Tureaud. “We thank you for all of the support, and we look forward to giving you all the best in the new year.”
