Finding Holiday Happiness

As we approach the holiday season, some might find themselves feeling not-so-jolly, dealing with depression when everything around them appears festive. The world can seem lost in the materialistic mirage of the season, and painted-on smiles whisper loudly in hollow spaces.

When looking for the true essence of self, the joy we seek can be activated by the happiness button hidden inside our souls, the one that was never turned to “off” when we were young and moving to the rhythm of the world.

Now that we are grown, we tend to judge everything that comes before us — classifying the good, the bad and the ugly. But what if we were to simply press on and move to the beat of life?

Not moving when our jobs demand it, but moving after-hours — daring to experience life outside the box. Speaking genuine words, unclouded by ulterior motives and hidden agendas. Giving ourselves the rich experience of meeting new people and finding common interests.

We must remain determined to unlock the door to our souls and free our imaginations to wander to a place called innovation. Happiness is God’s promise, and you can choose to take it back or continue to give it away. Peace awaits when you learn to hold onto your joy.
