Reunited, and it feels so good

More than 500 people who either live or grew up in the Valley View Estates gathered recently for a reunion held at Valley View Park. Photographers Tony White and Richelle Lacy captured scenes from the event — which was co-chaired by Samone Davis and Belinda Strong, with food donated by Mama’s Boy Café and Gritz Café. Attendees barbecued, brought dishes to share, and grooved to a DJ.

A live performance by gospel rap artist IC Jonez and a prayer circle highlighted the day, as the crowd celebrated enduring pride in a historic community.
