The choice is yours

I was looking in the mirror and something seemed off: it was me, jumping up and down, trying to fit into my pants. I knew I had a problem when I was sucking in my tummy to try and button my pants. I said forget it — and threw them onto the floor. I had my backup pants that I knew would fit.

This is a moment I think we all may have experienced: the dreaded weight gain! It comes on like a thief in the night. Suddenly you have gained weight and we have no clue where it came from. Losing weight can be tough! There are always so many new fads to follow.

The question I often ask myself is, “How do I know which will work for me?” I can recall a time when I first started paying attention to my weight. I was 50 pounds overweight. The weight gain was just the physical attribute you saw; deep down inside me there were other issues in my life that caused me to develop bad habits.

Once I started to pay attention to myself and look inward, I gained the knowledge to make those changes I desperately needed. Losing weight is the easy part. Changing bad habits and being consistent is hard. I have found that it is far more important to focus on changing your daily routines, habits, and networks of people you are engaged in than to focus solely on losing weight.

There are four areas in life that I highlight in my six-week course L.I.V.E. Mama:

#1. Create longevity in your life — eat foods that fight infections and viruses

#2. Be inspired by your environment — ensure your social capital is on point. Your network of people matters!

#3. Raise your vibrations to a higher frequency — operate in love because it’s the highest frequency and eat unprocessed foods that are free from preservatives.

#4. Stay empowered — do things that make you happy, like working out or exploring a hobby

Every moment in your life should align with these truths. Your life will change in a positive way as you begin saying no to everything that does not align. Your discipline and commitment to yourself is the answer — because you are an asset in your life. The more you invest in yourself, the more you will succeed. The choice is yours; what you do now will either push you into success or set you back. What will you choose?
