Taste & Sounds of Soul Festival

The forces behind the 12th Annual Taste & Sounds of Soul Festival are proud to announce that the event has added a third date, and now will run Feb. 22-24 at the historic Fremont Street Experience.

The free three-day event will run each day from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. revolutionizing how Nevada celebrates African-American history, Taste & Sounds of Soul is the first and largest free festival in the state that celebrates Black History Month, minority-owned businesses and local entertainment.

Up to 25,000 people will converge on the Fremont Street Experience annually for the festival, which showcases the finest soul food in the valley.

“Many of our black business owners look forward to the Taste & Sounds of Soul Festival each year during Black History Month, which gives them an opportunity to not only sell their food and cultural wares to locals, but also to the many tourists who make special arrangements to attend the festival each year,” founders Charles Tureaud and Kimberly Bailey Tureaud said in a statement. “We are happy to now see more festivals occurring in Nevada since we first started Taste & Sounds of Soul 12 years ago. This adds to the sense of diversity and inclusion of our state.”

It is estimated that more than 40 vendors will be selling their food and gifts at this year’s festival, which is sponsored by KTNV Channel 13, Caesars Entertainment, the Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas All Women’s Care Center, KCEP 88.1 FM, SNWA and Las Vegas Black Image Magazine. This year’s festival promises to be another grand success that the entire family can enjoy. The community is encouraged to attend and taste food diversity at its best!
