Defining one’s success in life is relative. By default, we all have experienced happy times and moments of great disappointment. Like the saying goes: “It’s not that you get knocked down, but that you get up and keep trying to reach your goals.”

The process of facing circumstances that might not be working out for you is an act of perseverance. Not everyone will initially see your vision for your life, and it is up to you to be as innovative as possible to widen the doors of opportunity. Yes, there are many doors in this life that can open a new opportunity, realized or not. The great talents that you possess may often be met by obstacles before they become a crystal stair.

The most opportune time to meet obstacles in your way is when you have galvanized your inner strength. The inner strength that lies in your mind, body, and soul. Gaining a reservoir of strength is fueled by the exposure and information you receive to spark creativity. That creativity will lead to the development of innovation that will meet obstacles for a positive resolution.

The path might not be what you have planned, but it is sure to lead to your destination. Faith is often looked upon as an emotion instead of a verb. It is a direct action to practice faith; it moves the universe in your favor. Positive attitude and graciousness will propel results. These results will serve as vital tools that will refine your journey.

The celebration is knowing that you have the power to call upon your feelings of perseverance. No one person or thing can take this away from you. The act of keep-keeping-on depends solely on your own determination to beat the odds. Yes, this is a check that you can always cash. Your only job is to keep your account full with options that sustain your purpose. Life is a quest waiting for you to unlock its treasures. Those treasures are individualized by design.

But, just like the fighter has to first put on his gloves to fight — you must be armed first with your gift of perseverance before the road toward success opens for you.

Jamaal McCoy is the General Manager of Findlay Chevrolet. Findlay Chevrolet is the #1 Chevy dealership in Nevada and has received numerous awards — including General Motors Dealer of the Year for four consecutive years, and Time Magazine Dealer of The Year.
