Mothers are priceless treasures

Eva Martin

It has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to bear daily witness to the miraculous wonder of a mother’s love, strength, and engagement. As an owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants, I am frequently awed by moms who indulge their children in conversation and take the time to lovingly watch them play.

A mother’s commitment to her children’s physical and intellectual wellbeing is a priceless treasure. Physically active and healthy children are an immeasurable contribution to the world — and mothers who find the time for work, family, and community are a testament to unique strength that women possess.

Las Vegas is home to many organizations — such as Jack & Jill and Mocha Moms — that cater to mothers. They give women the support they need to lift their voices, and communities grow stronger when mothers are empowered to share their perspectives on issues affecting our families.

We celebrate mothers because they are a perfect example of the values of hope and selflessness that all of humanity yearns for. Mother’s Day brings us a moment to embrace all that is special about the women who give the holiday its name.
