Expertise Cosmetology Institute celebrates 10th anniversary

The Expertise Cosmetology Institute has educated aspiring hair stylists and nail technicians for 10 years, with more than 600 graduates currently owning their own salons or working for major companies across the United States.
Having expanded to two campuses — one in North Las Vegas, the other in Historic West Las Vegas — Expertise has grown into much more than a place where students sit in classrooms.
“We changed the name about five years ago because we identified that we were more than a school,” said owner-operator Gwen Bramioh, who added that the institute’s location at 1911 Stella Lake boasts 90 percent African-American enrollment. “We offer our students a better life with business classes, life skill training and cosmetology technical awareness and advancements.”
On April 2, the institute will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a gathering in the Dallas Ballroom at Texas Station.
“There will be a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m., and a hair and fashion show that will represent different eras in time,” said Bramioh. “Also, there will be a wonderful motivational speaker and a (formal) sit-down dinner. I hope Expertise graduates from all over will come back and celebrate with us. What really excites me about our cosmetology institute is that we are changing lives.”
