This year's National Bikers Roundup is being hailed as the nation's largest minority motorcycle camping rally, according to Las Vegas Roundup committee president Tommy Branch

Hailed as the “largest minority owned and operated motorcycle camping rally in the United States,” according to local Las Vegas Roundup committee president Tommy Branch, “the year’s event will welcome 15,000-30,000 African-American motorcyclists.”
Scheduled for five days at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the event will feature top celebrity entertainment, food and gift vendors. “The National Bikers Roundup has reserved the Las Vegas Motor Speedway — that is the actual campsite for the event, where people are going to come and set up tents and bring their mobile homes,” said Branch. “We are going to have live entertainment and there will be drag racing along with vendors. Just jump on your motorcycle, put on your leathers and a full helmet and then go for it on the race track.”
The general public is also welcome to enjoy the festivities.
“The National Bikers Roundup has never been to Las Vegas, and our eight local participating biker clubs got together and campaigned at last year’s roundup, in Missouri, to have the event here … in 2011,” said Branch, “Well, we won the vote and we are so glad to be hosting the event here in our city.”
The National Bikers Roundup has taken place over 33 years with no incidents of violence. A recent roundup in Atlanta drew more than 100,000 people.
The National Bikers Roundup rally is supported by national sponsors who respect the uniqueness of the motorcycles that are showcased. “What African-Americans are doing to customize their Harleys with paint work and stereo systems is unheard of in bike manufacturing,” notes Branch. “Harley-Davidson and many others are doing things to keep up with what African-American bikers are doing to their bikes. We are setting the new trends for Harley-Davidson, and corporate is seeing how we customize our bikes and are adding a little to their new bikes every year. We are bringing the innovation that is not found with the masses.”
