Tourists and locals often find themselves drawn to the Miracle Mile Shops on the Las Vegas Strip, which is fast earning an international reputation as one of the most popular shopping malls in the U.S.
Attached to the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Resort, Miracle Mile Shops distinguishes itself with an external attraction planted firmly in an environment of customer-friendly employees. An administrative assistant in the executive offices of Miracle Mile Shops, Lena Tracy sees every day how “miracles” happen in Las Vegas’ well-trafficked shopping experience.
“I think what makes the Miracle Mile Shops so unique is that we care about our employees and we cater to a diverse group of people,” said Tracy, a Chicago transplant who has lived in Las Vegas for a decade. “We work hard to make the Miracle Mile Shops not just a place to spend your money, but to give you a modern shopping experience as soon as you walk through the doors. You might find other malls boring, but the Miracle Mile Shops are alive and full of energy.”
With its diverse mix of businesses, Miracle Mile Shops are visited by tourists from all over the world. Says Tracy: “I have met people who specifically visit our mall from as far away as Australia. I have been told that the Miracle Mile Shops offer something pleasantly different, and people love seeing our informational reps riding on … Segways.”
Tracy noted that the economy hasn’t put a huge damper on commerce at Miracle Mile Shops. “We seem to keep the business tenants we have for a long time,” she observed. “The traffic in the shops is great, and I also think the business tenants realize that we are fair. The Miracle Mile Shops are the best, because we have something for everyone — presented with a friendly face and a smile.”
She added, when asked about employment opportunities at the mall: “Yes, we are looking for employees right now. If you are looking for a job, you can find one … at the Miracle Mile Shops. We have a very diverse mix of people, and we all really get along.”
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month — which Miracle Mile Shops recognizes by turning its world-famous fountain pink — Tracy encourages all women to receive annual mammograms.
“Breast cancer runs in my family and my grandmother and aunt both had it — one died and the other survived,” she said. “But what I did, because I am so busy, is ask my doctor to send me a yearly postcard [to remind me] when it is time to get my mammogram.”
