HAPPY NEW YOU

Entering the New Year, we are given the opportunity to re-evaluate our lives; to consider strategies for self-improvement and engage in activities that move us closer to realizing our hopes and dreams.

Some may confuse peace with stagnation or complacency, but can you truly say that dreams deferred don’t ignite the emotions that come with possibilities? Peace can also be defined as a moment of mental release from the stress and noise that keeps us off balance.

Once peace finds us, we feel refreshed in the moments; this is our unique time to move toward our life goals. So many of life’s twists and turns bring about uneasy feelings, but it is our challenge to stay the course and take refuge in our natural resilience. There, we find our Father, and we are not alone. Faith is a powerful blessing available to all of us, and this knowledge is the birthing ground for the peace we seek.

It has saddened me to see so many people suffering this holiday season. With tears still falling for our beautiful Las Vegas angel, Jade Morris, and the children of Newtown, Conn., I understand the tremendous pain being felt across our nation and world.

We have to take care of our minds and feelings. None of us are immune to mental illness — so it is crucial that we embrace the love in our hearts and minds, even when others hurt us. You are your sisters’ and brothers’ keeper. You could possibly save an angel yourself, simply by taking notice and reaching out when others show signs of imbalance.

It is within all our power to revolutionize our hearts and minds, by accepting the responsibilities for a happy and healthy life. Prioritize for the betterment of humanity, and peace is sure to find you.
