Massaging, the truth

Many of our children are enjoying their summer break from school, but I want to remind mothers to also take a break and treat themselves to a massage. In fact, July is the perfect month to do so: one week (July 14-20) is designated as “Everybody Deserves a Massage Week.”
Some of you may not take this seriously, or perhaps you see massages as an indulgence that you don’t have time to enjoy. Massages, however, can be as therapeutic as they are luxurious.
When you are relaxed and not under stress, the health benefits are monumental. In many parts of the world, human touch is considered the gateway to healing.
Frequent massages support good circulation, which is essential to maintaining healthy organs and revitalizing overall well-being. For expectant mothers, in particular, a light massage performed by a professional can do wonders for you and your unborn child.
To maintain good health in mind, body and soul, I encourage everyone to have a massage at least once a month. The attention given to certain pressure points on the body during a massage can relieve pain, and also act as preventive therapy for those prone to arthritis.
Relax the mind, and the body will follow. A healthy lifestyle is achievable when you put you and your health first.
