Sharon Braddy-McKoy is an example of this commitment. Sharon started with Southwest Gas 18 years ago in an entry level position. Across the span of 18 years, She was promoted to positions with increasing levels of responsibilities, and was recently named the company’s vice president of Human Resources.

Sharon Braddy-McKoy Looking back on her first meeting with Southwest Gas, she was asked this question by her interviewer: What is your ultimate goal? Sharon responded that she wanted to utilize her full potential to bring value to any position she holds within Southwest Gas.

“The company has supported my career goals by providing good mentorship and opportunities to learn the various aspects of its operation,” said Sharon. “I really appreciate how the company invested in my professional growth and helped me advance from an entry level position 18 years ago to an executive position today.”

Raised in Las Vegas, Sharon attended Jim Bridger Middle School and graduated from Rancho High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and completed her master’s degree in Human Resources Development at Webster University.

“I tell people all the time that whether you have a degree or not, you can secure entry-level employment at Southwest Gas” she said. “We have great entry-level positions, and wonderful benefits, such as training programs and tuition reimbursement, for determined employees who want to advance themselves within the organization.”

Sharon also shared that Southwest Gas is an organization with excellent leadership and a great culture of teamwork. “We have some absolutely incredible employees – and some have worked for the organization for as long as 40 years. That says a lot about Southwest Gas,” said Sharon.
