THE PASSING OF A NEVADA CIVIL RIGHTS ICON
Mary Wesley, a longtime Las Vegas resident and community
activist, died on Sept. 13. She was 79. Renowned
as one of the Westside Mothers, she was a well-regarded
champion for social change to benefit single
mothers and families throughout Nevada. Wesley raised
eight children and had 17 grandchildren. She will be
fondly remembered and dearly missed
