Commissioner Weekly brings a renowned Black College Fair to the community.
Over twenty Historic Black College & University recruiters descended on Las Vegas for the 20th Annual Historically Black College & Universities Recruitment Fair, which took place at the Doolittle Community Center. Over 2,000 community youth attended the free event, presented by the United College Action Network (U-CAN) in partnership with Clark County Commission Vice Chairman Lawrence Weekly.
There was a special VIP reception — hosted at Planet Hollywood, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment — for the recruiters, who rubbed elbows with local notables like Dave Washington; Urban Chamber of Commerce president Ken Evans; Berna Ford, representing Nevada State College; President of 100 Black Men Larry Mosely; KCEP General Manager Craig Knight and his wife, Nicole; and Courtney Moore, Caesars Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
