Letter from the Publishers
We have been publishing Las Vegas Black Image Magazine for 14 years and want to thank our readers, advertisers, and community advocates so much for making it happen. It is an honor to provide Nevada with positive stories and photos of our African American community and all that is being contributed to make our city one of the greatest in the world.
This issue’s cover — created by the magnificent James Carter — celebrates all the Las Vegas Black Image covers published in 2020. We look forward to producing more of the best in 2021.
Following the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois’ Paris Exhibition, Las Vegas Black Image is the people’s publication and serves as a mirror to reflect positivity and progress, while encouraging continued upward mobility.
With great sadness we say goodbye to a political giant, Senator Joe Neal, who has recently passed on. Condolences to his friends and family, and it is our hope that as a community we continue to fight for positive advancement and economic development.
During this difficult time it is important to keep our minds and body healthy. Las Vegas Black Image has an unwavering commitment to featuring healthy editorials and motivational photographs that will improve your quality of life.
The contributing writers for Las Vegas Black Image are all residents of Las Vegas, and we thank them for sharing their ideals through their editorials for our readers.
Our prayer is that we enter 2021 with optimism that feeds into personal actions that enhance and contribute to our community.
Thank you again,
Charles Tureaud & Kimberly Bailey Tureaud
