Las Vegas Black Image Magazine launched a “Diversity and Inclusion Health Initiative” in the months of September, October and November — and was proud to host a Celebration of Seniors and Veterans Health Symposium at the Doolittle Active Adult Senior Center. The theme throughout the health initiative was, “Go to the Doctor!”
Lead sponsors included Intermountain Healthcare and John Mull’s Meats & Road Kill Grill that fed over 200 community seniors at the event. Comprehensive Cancer Center also made a special contribution, which allowed red roses to be given to all seniors. Wellcare also donated all the beverages for the seniors.
The seniors enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by John Mull’s Meats & Road Kill along with a healthcare presentation from Intermountain Healthcare doctors who also answered all questions from the audience. Entertainment was provided by Cornelius MD, who performed a Barry White tribute for the seniors.
According to Doolittle Active Adult Senior Center Director Cassandra Lewis, “It was wonderful to have this ‘Celebrating Seniors & Veterans’ at our center. We hope to have this as an annual event and we thank all the doctors who participated from Intermountain Healthcare.”
