Fathers, freedom, fortitude, and foundations
June is a celebratory time of the year. Juneteenth, Father’s Day, graduation season, and Black Music Month all bring joy to our community — and this edition of Las Vegas Black Image puts a spotlight on people, places, and things that deliver wisdom, pride, and rhythmic movement to the culture.
Look inside for joyous images of dads with their children, tales of students stepping across stages on the path to greatness, and much more — all with a spirit of optimism and a hard focus on keeping the Black family strong.
Speaking of strength, we chose Chris Rock for this month’s cover because he embodies the fortitude that we should all model for the next generation. He’s one of America’s most talented and insightful entertainers — and has maintained dignity and grace even in the midst of turmoil caused by the slap heard around the world.
All of it has been pulled together by the Black Image executive team, which always exemplifies excellence — alongside contributing writers who bring fresh perspectives to our loyal readers and keep us motivated to make positive change.
And it’s made possible by the many businesses and corporations who support the vision that we bring to you every month.
