Janet Jackson is one of the most gifted and decorated performers in pop music history. Forty years after her debut album was released, the star’s legend and impact endures.
Global entertainment icon Janet Jackson recently visited Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on a family vacation and enjoyed some time at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. The newest family thrill coaster is part of the ongoing transformation of EPCOT.
Jackson grew up in one of the most talented families in the world. Her father, Joseph Jackson, helped her to get a contract with A&M Records — through which her self-titled debut album was released in 1982. Two years later, she released her second studio album.
Jackson eventually moved on and collaborated with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on her third album, “Control,” which was released in 1986. The album gave Jackson her first number-one debut on U.S. charts: the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the Billboard 200.
On the personal front, Jackson has been married three times. Her most recent marriage was to Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana. They welcomed their only child, Eissa Al Mana, and separated after a short time after their son’s birth and divorced in 2018.
Jackson is one of the most decorated performers in the history of pop music: She has won 11 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Magazine Year-End Number One Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, 4 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, 21 BMI Pop Awards, 5 Bravo Otto Awards, 4 American Black Achievement Awards, 9 Guinness Book of World Records, 5 Grammy Awards, 3 Image Awards, 3 International Dance Music Awards and 13 Soul Train Music Awards and more.
As of August 2022, the estimated net worth of Janet Jackson is $220 million. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that she might have over $1 billion in assets.
