Stage play ‘Washington Heights’ comes to West Las Vegas Theater

Agin Muhammad

Renowned screenwriter and director Agin Muhammad brings his hit stage play “Washington Heights” to the West Las Vegas Theater located at 951 West Lake Mead Blvd. on January 21, 2023 — presented by Chicago-based The Driven Entertainment Group and Lighthouse.

Muhammad credits August Wilson for his love of stage plays. He recently added screenwriting to his resume — crediting films by Spike Lee and Martin Scorsese as the reason for wanting to become a screenwriter.

His first short film, “A Man’s Gotta Do,” which was performed in front of massive audiences, won the Las Vegas International Film Festival. Other credits include Muhammad’s short “Letters from Prison,” which received an official selection in the 2012 San Diego International Film Festival.

Many of Muhammad’s plays have been performed at the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago, IL, Madam Walker Legacy Center in Indianapolis, IN, and at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts in Decatur, Georgia.

“Washington Heights” on January 21, 2023 promises to entertain all — and there will be two shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Get your tickets now for only $30 until December 24. Thereafter, tickets will be $35 on Eventbrite.
