Under the Glittering Lights: Usher brings it!

The showroom was already rocking when Usher took the stage for his “My Way” Las Vegas residency show at the Dolby Live Theater inside Park MGM Las Vegas.
The house was packed with brothers and sisters from all over the world. Yes, Usher did the American city roll call, and the majority of people were from Atlanta, Hous-ton, and Chicago — and yes, we screamed when Las Ve-gas natives were called upon to yell.
The male and female dancers were like no others seen on the Las Vegas Strip — truly adding the diverse, cul-tural vibe that Las Vegas needs and desires. They were fabulous while dancing to favorites such as: “Yeah,” “My Way,” “Burn,” “Caught Up,” “Confessions,” “Don’t Waste My Time,” and many more. The sisters who entertained as pole dancers gave a new definition to the physical art form that others could only hope to achieve.
Usher delivered nothing less than great vocals, danc-ing, and skating (yes, the skating rink was alive and well — reminiscent of urban vibes that many of us remember from days gone by). The sound system was on point, and I was taken by how Usher interacted with the audience; he stepped right into and touched a dancing crowd that stood on its feet the majority of time.
Recalling the days when Sammy Davis Jr. was a fix-ture on The Strip, Usher is a modern-day version of “The Ultimate Entertainer.” The show delivered on so many levels while maintaining that ATL Freaknik vibe. Bravo!
