Library District and Golden Knights invite you to #GetCarded

Just in time for Library Card Sign-Up Month this year, the power of a library card is being amplified with so many great incentives that you’ll want to be first in line throughout September.

This annual celebration of all the library offers (books, yes — but also hands-on technology, free homework help, art galleries and live performances, job training, language skills, and so much more!). During the month of September, your library card is the ticket for a chance to win tickets to see our Stanley Cup champions and hometown heroes, the Vegas Golden Knights, or one of the hundreds of “#GetCarded with the Vegas Golden Knights” T-shirts that will be given away.

Just visit your local branch, and choose one of several fun library card designs — from the sparkly gold Vegas Golden Knights card to the neon “I Love My Library” card (available in English or Spanish), to the dog lover’s card and more. Your library card number allows you to enter for a chance to win VGK tickets or T-shirts, and the giveaway is open to existing library cardholders as well. But that’s not all that your library card can do!

Las Vegas Clark County Library District Executive Director Kelvin Watson, Cox Market VP Janet Uthman, Congresswoman Susie Lee, and EVP & Chief Marketing Officer Mark Lawson

“Through a partnership with Cox Communications, and a grant from the Federal Emergency Connectivity Fund, the Library District invites you to come into your local branch and check out a FREE Personal WiFi Card,” said Kelvin Watson, executive director of the Library District. “This card will contain a user name and password that is your very own key to unlock free access to the Cox WiFi Hotspot Network. This free service will allow you to connect up to three devices, and it is available now through June 30, 2024.”

And while supplies last, those who check out a FREE Personal WiFi Card will also receive a FREE gift from the Library District — either a handsome Library District tote bag or insulated water bottle. For more details about the FREE Personal WiFI Card, visit the website at https://thelibrarydistrict.org/freewifi.

Watson explained that while the Cox WiFi Hotspot Network is available in most neighborhoods across Clark County, residents who live outside the Cox service area can check out a FREE Library District WiFi hotspot from the catalog — so don’t miss your chance to learn about the power of a library card during Library Card Sign-Up Month. Cardholders can enter the prize giveaway online at TheLibraryDistrict.org/GetCardedGiveaway. Entries must be received by Sept. 30, 2023. Winners will be selected in a random drawing in October.
