Usher’s New Look Foundation Hosts Women Of Influence

R&B musical artist Usher

Legendary entertainer Usher Raymond’s Las Vegas residency is currently in full swing, and his acclaimed Usher’s New Look (UNL) nonprofit foundation is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading philanthropic organizations dedicated to uplifting, empowering and transforming the lives of underserved youth around the world.

One of UNL’s missions is to honor women of influence from a spectrum of industries and sectors and to raise funds and resources for UNL’s Powered By Service Development Program for underserved young people — with a particular focus on young women of color. The event is a significant element of the UNL’s ongoing programming throughout the year, addressing critical issues facing young people that range from mental health, fiscal responsibility, professional development and access to technology to mentorship and opportunities for educational advancement and employment.

The highlight of the evening was the special honor for Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders — who has more than two decades of leadership experience in the sports, gaming, legal and corporate sectors, and has served as a chief regulator, director, attorney and advisor to integrated resorts, casinos, and telecommunications companies. Having an adept understanding of the community as a native of Las Vegas, she is incredibly proud to lead the Silver and Black in her hometown.

Usher’s community work in Las Vegas includes:

  • Contributing to the Las Vegas education system.
  • Providing New Look’s Emory University-backed curriculum to Las Vegas youth
  • Holding events at Nevada Boys & Girls Club and Cheyenne High School.
  • Hosting more than 1,000 middle and high school youth at the leadership development event
