Gala marks 40 years for KCEP Power 88

“KCEP 88.1 FM’s 40th Anniversary Gala electrified the community,” said Craig Knight, the station’s general manager. “It was a shot in the arm that the community needed. The gala was something that was never expected, and some of the 650 people who attended the gala said they felt like they were at the Grammys or the BET Awards”

Black Girls Code

It was a distinct honor to be invited to the InNEVation Burkes Center in Las Vegas to witness the first coming-together of the Nevada Chapter of “Black Girls Code,” sponsored by Bally Technologies. Organizers Lauren Burke Bennett and Lisa Mosley spearhead this national nonprofit organization, which is part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) national initiative to expose girls from underrepresented communities to STEM-related industries.
