What would you like to see the Clark County School District Do that hasn’t yet been done?
Peace Webb CCSD should create a fair and enforceable discipline plan that is consistently implemented on all campuses.
Tiffany Ward I would like to see CCSD provide teachers and staff with more personal and professional development training — so they can understand their behaviors and others’ behaviors around them for effective communication. I have been speaking with a fair amount of teachers recently, and a lot of teachers are quitting because they didn’t feel supported in the pandemic and were forced into adaptability without acknowledging that all people aren’t capable of adapting naturally.
Lisa Marie I would like to see “safe key” options for special needs kids within the school district.
Angie Davie-Morris They need to do a whole revamp. I’m not sure how to do that, but it’s been in trouble for a long time — so they definitely need to change and do things differently and definitely pay teachers more.
Al Stein Liggins CCSD needs to get rid of the whole board, including Jara, and start fresh with new people. Cut the pay of administrators and put that money into the teachers’ and support staff’s pockets.
DeMarlo Beals There should be a reclassified pay scale for custodians so they can have enough money to pay for the help.
Michael Towers Sr. CCSD needs to focus on educating our kids to get jobs outside of the gaming industry.
Trina Banks I would love to see true equity among the students. as well as the entire special needs services department revamped.
Gail Anderson Introduce Spanish as part of the normal curriculum in first grade. We must include Spanish into our curriculum. It should be mandatory. It should be available. If we don’t we will fail our youth — especially Black youth.
Valorie Lucas Bring back hall monitors. We had Black men at our schools.
Fannie Mitchell Elect new board members who listen to the community and do something about the complaints. It starts with electing new members. It’s like, “Why have all these people talk at the meeting when their minds are already made up?” Good leadership starts from the top. Bring in an outside company to conduct an audit. They never found that $80 million. They need to fix the broken system.
