Producer-director Troy Phillips of Colabo Theatre is staging a production of the beloved musical “The Wiz” Feb. 12-13 at the Cashman Theatre, located at 850 N. Las Vegas Blvd.
According to marketing director Jesse Wells, “This professional rendition of ‘The Wiz’ will spotlight performers from ‘Havana Nights,’ from the Las Vegas strip.” He said fans of the classic film version — which starred Diana Ross as Dorothy and Michael Jackson as The Scarecrow — will see new twists that the entire family can enjoy.
“Our lead, Chondell Leland … is reminiscent of the great singer Stephanie Mills,” said Wells, referring to the performer who was cast as Dorothy in the original Broadway stage production. For additional information, call (702) 742-6109 or visit colabotheater.com.
