Celebrating Black history now

Las Vegas Black Image publishers Charles Tureaud and Kimberly Bailey Tureaud

Black History Month is always a special time for this magazine, and we are blessed to once again celebrate our community.

This year’s edition zeroes in on Black history now — Nevada icons who are making positive impacts in our community today. We are proud to showcase the many faces representing Las Vegas’ Black excellence, and Cox Communications’ Black History Month honorees are featured on the 2022 cover in recognition of their extraordinary achievements and contributions.

Of course, the celebration isn’t confined to February. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday is always a wonderful time in our city, and inside you’ll find full coverage of how Las Vegas marked the holiday.

Las Vegas Black Image Magazine would not be possible without the support of our great advertisers, contributing writers, and administrative team. We are blessed to have you all.

Let’s remember to stay safe and keep pushing to keep our wonderful Black — that is, American — history alive!
