ABC’s ‘Soul of a Nation’ puts spotlight on Anna Bailey

On February 1, ABC network is showcasing a special series called “Soul of a Nation,” featuring Black entertainers such as: Usher, Ne-Yo, Smokey Robinson, comedian Luenell. It also features a special interview with Las Vegas’ own Anna Bailey.
The special will showcase today’s Black entertainers while giving an historic look at figures like Sammy Davis Jr. and others who paved the way by breaking down barriers of racism, discrimination, and exclusion.
Bailey — a longtime Las Vegas resident and business icon — gives her account as the first Black showgirl on the Las Vegas Strip. She also shares her experiences as the original lead showgirl at the Moulin Rouge, America’s first integrated hotel and casino.
