Giving “thanks” is the mantra! We are so appreciative for the blessings of having loyal readers and supporters of Las Vegas Black Image Magazine — Black-owned and operated since 2008.
This issue rings in the holiday season with Thanksgiving. For many of us, this season means enjoying great movies — and we recommend “The Burial” on Amazon Prime, starring Jamie Foxx. We don’t want to give all of it away, but trust that it will be one of your most beloved movies of the year.
Again, we thank our contributing writers: Mr. Louie Overstreet, Claytee White, Dr. Ellen Brown, Dr. Marguerite Brathwaite, Dr. Darryl Fortson, and Ms. Kimberly Smith. Their innovative, insightful and educational words lift minds and spirits across Nevada.
The Bully Buster king, Mr. Keith Bowen. is celebrated and featured in this issue — announcing the expansion of his Art & Educational Technical Institute.
CenterWell Senior Primary Care showcases the diversity of healthcare professionals fulfilling your healthcare needs.
More than 200 Black women participated in the 6th Annual Las Vegas Caravan for Mammogram event, brought to you by Las Vegas Black Image Magazine, Intermountain Healthcare, Anthem, and Touro University. Our Photos of the Month capture highlights of a momentous day.
Mr. Harvey Munford recently passed away, and our hearts are full of sadness for his loss and gratitude for his impact. He will always be remembered as a pillar of our community. Rest in peace to this giant of a man.
Mental illness is such a rising problem in our community — and we can’t afford to ignore the first signs of a problem. In this issue’s Silent Corner, we remember 14-year-old Renard Green Jr. (RJ) — who is the subject of a raw, heart-wrenching piece by his father, Renard Green Sr. Let’s all pray for this family and make sure little RJ is never forgotten.
Again, we thank all of our participating advertisers — and all of you! — for giving us the honor of providing Las Vegas Black Image Magazine each and every month.
Rise,
Charles Tureaud & Kimberly Bailey Tureaud
