It is an honor to have Tabitha Brown on this month’s cover of Las Vegas Black Image. Our exclusive conversation with “America’s Mom” opens the playbook for Brown’s extraordinary success — showing how her unassuming authenticity has opened doors in the realms of publishing, television, brand partnership, and more.

Elsewhere in this September edition:

Information and entry form for the 8th Annual Las Vegas Caravan for Mammogram, to be held Oct. 26. The event promises to be bigger than ever, and we need you to join hundreds of Black women offering support to the cause of defeating breast cancer — which disproportionately affects Black women, with often fatal results — once and for all!

Our readers speak their minds on the topic of how they find inspiration in their daily lives.

Readers also share what keeps them motivated in life in the “Community Speaks” section of this issue. It is a blessing to have so many share their words of inspiration.

As young people return to the classroom, we go inside the Las Vegas Clark County Library District’s recent Back-to-School event — where students were provided with free backpacks and supplies, along with opportunities to have a bit of fun at the expense of some authority figures who are good sports in addition to being strong advocates for educational excellence.

Before we go, we can’t forget the extraordinary contributions made by our outstanding advertisers, contributing writers, and executive publishing team. And a special shout out to our magazine distribution team, which makes sure that Las Vegas Black Image Magazine is stocked in all Albertsons, Vons, Whole Foods, and Mario’s Market stores, Las Vegas Clark County Library branches, and more. And remember: You can also have the magazine home-delivered along with your Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper.
