Honoring the 2025 African American Trailblazer Service Awards Winners

In honor of Black History Month, the City of Las Vegas recently held the 11th annual African American Trailblazer Service Awards at Las Vegas City Hall. The awards ceremony was held in Council Chambers and may be watched at https//www.youtube.com/@cityoflasvegastv. Award nominations were open to the public online through Oct. 18, 2024. 

The award honor residents who have achieved outstanding civic accomplishments and made significant contributions to the Las Vegas community in the following categories: 

  • Business and Economic Advancement Award: Bobbie G. Mullins. 
  • Community Activism and Politics Award: Capucine Holmes 
  • Educator Award: Ayoka Snipes 
  • Tyrone Thompson Emerging Leader Award: Avree Walker 
  • Spiritual Community Award: Alma Faye Hudson-McDonnell 
  • Trailblazer Impact Award: Kimberly Bailey Tureaud
