Apocalypse A’Comin’

The pending catastrophe is of our own making. We have become an alphabet of mess-ups. Are you asking yourself, “What is my boy Louie talking about?” Well, here are my answers in letters. 

A: Arrogant and ignorant traits of the president are not good for conducting our nation’s business. 

B: Bankruptcy of the full faith and credit of the USA is looming. 

C: Climate can no longer be the victim of Pell Mell exploration for profit. 

D: Deficit spending is no way to run a national government. 

E: Economic disparity is a threat to domestic tranquility. 

F: Failing educational systems will create irreversible structural unemployment. 

G: Gun legislation is not a moral imperative, as it should be. 

H: Hate poses a major threat to our domestic harmony. 

I: Immigrants are welcome, but only if they are from Europe. 

J: Justice is something poor folks can’t afford in America. 

K: KKK, kan kause koncern, if not strongly condemned by elected officials. 

L: Lying by public officials is not sustainable. 

M: Media platforms now serve as places to air baseless grievances. 

N: NATO, not having the support of the current POTUS is ludicrous. 

O: Oppression of perceived lesser folks is now acceptable. 

P: Prisons are not the answer for Americans with substance addictions. 

Q: Quid pro quo is not the way to conduct the affairs of state. 

R: Racism and sexism are our Achilles heels for the world to see. 

S: Supreme Court needs term limits, for democracy to survive in America. 

T: Tribal behavior is counter to the interests of a multiracial, constitutionally governed society. 

U: “United we stand” is in jeopardy. 

V: Visas are only available to the wealthy, WTF? 

W: Wholesale violations of the Constitution are now tolerated by Congress. 

X: Xenophobic policies harm us on the world stage. 

Y: Yearning to be free ain’t happening for the huddled masses. 

Z: Zealots of religious orders harm the precept of the separation of church and state. 

I am too old, but good luck to those young enough to survive an apocalypse.
