MHS Behavioral Services and health professionals host a Men’s Health event at Mariposa Cocina & Cocktails

On June 24, MHS Behavioral Services partnered with Mariposa Cocina & Cocktails to host an evening centered around a conversation we don’t have often enough” men’s health.

“The Male Mid-Life Crisis: Think Menopause Is Just for Women? Think Again” brought together men, women, community leaders, and healthcare professionals for an honest discussion about what men experience during midlife — and more importantly, why these conversations matter.

Throughout the evening, our panel discussed topics including andropause, prostate health, heart health, erectile dysfunction, and mental health. We also explored something that isn’t talked about nearly enough: the pressure many men feel to always be strong, hide their emotions, and avoid asking for help.

Those expectations can become barriers to seeking the care and support they deserve.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was hearing directly from the audience. Questions ranged from how partners can better support the men they love to natural ways to promote healthy aging and overall wellness. It reminded us that men’s health doesn’t just affect men, it affects families, relationships, and entire communities.

Events like this are important because they create a safe space where people can ask questions without judgment, learn from experts, and realize they are not alone. Every conversation helps reduce stigma and makes it a little easier for someone else to reach out for support.

At MHS Behavioral Services, we’re committed to continuing this work. We believe education creates healthier communities, and we’re excited to keep these conversations going.

This is only the beginning. We look forward to welcoming the community back in August as we continue creating spaces where health, healing, and honest conversations can thrive.
