Peace – Getting the most out of quiet time

Seldom do we look at clocks on the wall; the passage of time is meticulously documented by digital devices that demand our constant attention. Personal relationships are dictated by the drive to stay a step ahead of an economy in flux, requiring us to make split-second decisions in hopes of a faster ascent to the mountaintop. Worldly noise interrupts our lives, disturbs the peace.Worry — and its deliverers — deter us from reaching our goals. By Kimberly Bailey-Tureaud

There are times when we are overwhelmed by negative circumstances, challenged to find peace in the midst of unfavorable situations.

PEACE – A wish for PEACE in Haiti

On the eve of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the ground beneath our brothers and sisters in Haiti shook with the fury of a 7.0-magnitude earthquake. In an instant, the most impoverished country in the Western Hemisphere was further devastated by natural disaster, killing an estimated 200,000 people and leaving an untold number with grave injuries. Weeks later, our nightly newscasts continue to be filled with the tragic, indelible images: men, women and children lying dead, unattended, in the streets of Port-au-Prince; others remain badly hurt, many with limbs in need of amputation but no doctors to perform the surgery.

PEACE – Take advantage of the NEW YEAR!

As a new year begins, there is peace in the knowledge that we have been blessed with more time to reaffirm ourselves and our vision for a more prosperous journey.
